Instagram’s Rolling Out “Close Friends” Feed Posts
It feels like we are always talking about Instagram. Is that a bad thing though? The application continues to roll out new updates and we can’t keep up!
Instagram is in the early stages of rolling out “close friends” feed posts. This new feature will allow you to post content to a specific list of followers. A post on X made by Lia Haberman showed what the Instagram option looks like in the app. The screenshot of the new feature was taken by Jordan Shalhoub.
The “Close friends” option is not something new though. We saw this feature come to Instagram Stories in 2018. Second Instagram accounts and “finstas” were on the rise during this time. So, Instagram saw the opportunity to make the app more accessible for those who want to be more private with friends and family. The app allows you to create a list of all the people that you want to see your exclusive content.
Now with feed posts being added to the mix, users will no longer have to hold back on the more “casual” and “unhinged” Instagram content. In addition, you can have a sense of comfort when posting that type of content. You will also be able to turn on this option whenever you want! Simply just toggle the “Close friends” button on or off before clicking post.
This option will soon be officially rolled out to all users! Be sure to keep an eye out on your profile to see if the feature appears!
