Verified Feed on Instagram: How Meta Wants You to Pay for The Blue Check

18 August 2023

Since the Instagram Verification Program or Instagram Meta Verified arrived on the social network, Meta has been working to add new features. The goal was to encourage this program and get users to pay for the subscription service.

Something which Instagram continues to tweak, as reported by insider Alessandro Paluzzi n his Twitter account, where he posted screenshots of the verified feed on Instagram.

Instagram Meta Verified is the network’s subscription service from Meta, which was inspired by Twitter Blue. Meta first released this feature in February to select countries but has now reached all regions.

There are two price options: USD $11.99/month when you subscribe on the web version or USD $14.99/month when you subscribe in the app. By subscribing to this program, the user can access certain benefits, including an Instagram-verified account, premium support, and increase visibility in certain areas of the social network.

The latest novelty to arrive at this paid subscription program is a verified feed on Instagram. This option, as seen in the image, will be available for users to choose: in the “For You” button in the top left, you will be able to select between feeds of your followers, your favorites, or users with a verified account.

The verified feed on Instagram is working on is two-fold. The first affects users who will have yet another feed, being able to customize their experience at a new level. The second is for content creators who, if they had doubts about joining this service to boost their account, may have already decided to become verified users.

What remains to be seen is how this verified feed will work. Whether Instagram will show content in order of profile importance, if the algorithm will depend on how you interact with other accounts, or if the feed will be based on which accounts you follow or don’t follow.
