3 Tap on the ‘Repost’ option, a yellow button with white arrows.

4 Write a message that will accompany the reposted video.

5 Your followers and those you follow will see this video in their ‘For You’ feed, and under the Repost tab in your account.

Characteristics of the Repost

Although the term is the same as on Instagram, reposting on TikTok has some differences from other social networks:

✅ The video you repost will not appear on your profile feed, in contrast to Instagram or Twitter. The reposted clips will be seen only by users who follow you or that you follow, in the For You page and in the Repost tab in your account.

You can’t share just any video you find on TikTok. It has to show up in the ‘For You’ section and the owner has to have the repost settings turned on.

How to Un-Repost on TikTok

Follow these steps to remove a repost on TikTok:

  • Login to TikTok, and head to the Repost tab inside your profile.
  • Find the video you want to un-repost and click on the arrow icon in the bottom right corner.
  • The Share menu will appear, and here you will see a yellow button, Remove repost.

How to Make a Repost Public/Private

If you want your reposts on TikTok to be public, all you have to do is follow these simple steps:

  • Head on over to your profile and click on the three horizontal line icon.
  • Click settings and privacy.
  • Scroll down to the repost section.
  • Here you will be able to toggle between public and private.

Who Can See Your Reposts on TikTok?

The only users that can see your reposts would be your ‘Friends.’ The video you have chosen will likely end up on your friends ‘For You and ‘Following Feed’. The video will only be seen if you follow them and they follow you back.
