Threads Engagement Is Lower Than Meta Would Like
Threads was officially launched almost 3 months ago and the hype surrounding it’s initial launch has definitely settled. Meta is not satisfied with the amount of engagement happening on Threads so they have continued to refine and make updates to the app.
It is not to say that this app is completely dead. There are still a substantial amount of users on the app even though there have been complaints about missing features.
Areas Meta is Focusing on
Complaints have been said and Meta has listened. Meta is funneling their focus on these key areas:
- Messaging- They want to make the messaging feature more user-friendly. It may not be a feature directly related to Threads but more connected to Instagram.
- Improved Discovery- The suggestions you receive on Threads have been found to be extremely generic. Whereas many other apps will give you follower suggestions catered to you specifically, so Threads is working to fix this.
- Edit Button- This button is already in the works. Currently, users are allowed a 5-minute edit period where they can change their content, but now they are working on an edit button for however long they need.
New apps go through highs and lows all the time, but the willingness for updates and changes is what makes for a great app. Meta is listening and working on changes. Do you think this app has the opportunity to thrive?
